The Davey O'Brien Foundation funds and administers four annual awards. The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award® (The O'Brien) honors the nation’s best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious quarterback award. Candidates are evaluated on their quarterback skills/athletic ability, academics, team spirit, character, leadership and sportsmanship.
The Davey O'Brien High School Scholarship provides scholarships to high school senior student-athletes in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex based on character, community service, leadership, scholarship and varsity sports participation. The winner receives a $20,000 scholarship and finalists receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The Davey O'Brien Legends Award recognizes a college or professional quarterback who has made a significant contribution to the game of football, distinguished himself as an extraordinary leader and demonstrated exemplary conduct on and off the football field.
The Charles Ringler Founder’s Award honors an individual or corporation devoted to the Davey O’Brien Foundation and has exhibited the same passion, pride and perseverance as the man responsible for establishing the Foundation and the O'Brien Memorial Trophy.
